BACKGROUND AND EVOLUTION
This institution has been shaped by the vision of a committed group of renowned intellectuals from varied fields who have deep insight, knowledge and expertise in their respective domains, besides commitment to public good. In view of the emerging scenario in the country, new ideas, new socio- political values and new developmental ethos await to be written ideally by some of the best minds that our country has. Thus, we got together a group of eminent thinkers for long hours of deliberations spread through several days to set out the priorities and focus areas of ICPRD in consultation with a large number of civil society members and other stakeholders.
The final shape and contours thus arrived at for ICPRD are meant to make it a broad public-spirited outfit. The idea behind our Think Tank is to make a meaningful intervention in policy-making through research, extensive surveys and data-collection from all parts of country and undertake incisive study and analysis of policy related matters.
The very concept of the organisation is to recheck and break the stereotypes wherever necessary in order to move towards a new definition to public policy and its advocacy in the larger social interest. ICPRD thinks this to be greatly needed to open a new chapter in India’s socio-economic development where the goals of India’s democratic journey and its rightful position on global stage could be realized.
